As a homestay provider, you are acting as the student's guardian and are therefore responsible for their welfare at times when they are not taking part in the school programme.

If you have a spare bedroom that would be suitable to host a guest, this is an ideal opportunity to earn a bit of extra money, without the commitment of having a full-time lodger.

The majority of our students are juniors aged between 11-17 and come from a wide range of European countries, including France, Germany and Spain. We have groups that stay for anything between 5 nights to 3 weeks, plus individual students who stay longer.

During the day, the students will usually take part in lessons or activities run by Hello! Exmouth.

Our students are here to improve their English and spending time with you in the evenings is a huge part of their experience. When they are staying with you, it is expected for the students to be treated as one-of-the family. Whenever possible, encourage your students to join in with your life and conversation.

We have a 24 hour emergency number available for support with any important issues and our office team are always on hand for support and advice during office hours.

Our emergency number is 07980 833 772.

If you are interested in becoming a homestay provider with us, please call the Hello! Exmouth office on 01395 223 942 or email host@helloexmouth.co.uk and one of our staff members will provide further information, our current rates of pay and process your application.

We conduct a visit of your home before you are able to receive students; we will arrange a visit convenient with your schedule.

As a British Council-accredited school, it is a requirement for our hosts to have a current Enhanced DBS. If your household does not hold one of these, we can process one for you during your application. Please contact us for further details.

Hosting students can be a wonderful experience and our hosts enjoy building bonds with international students from all over Europe.
